Can you imagine what it is like to feel as though no-one cares about you, at a time when the TV is showing shiny new toys or the latest electronic gizmo?
Can you imagine not getting anything from your mother or father because they are in prison at this time and don’t have the means of buying you a gift or two.
That is what it is like for possibly up to 22,000 children in our country at present and, as the prison numbers grow, that number will increase.
The Angel Tree Christmas Gift scheme, run by the Prison Fellowship, has been operating for many years with over 3800 presents delivered last year to some 1550 caregivers’ homes. This year we are aiming far higher and also commencing a scheme to take some children to a camp next July.
